10/10/15Now because last week I talked about my clairsonic which is part of my skincare routine,I thought it would be fitting to talk about my makeup routine this week. I don’t wear makeup everyday, but I wear it most days just because I like it, and it makes me feel better about my appearance. Now when I say I wear makeup everyday this does not mean a full face, you will see I have a very minimal makeup routine that I really only switch up for special occasions. All of my makeup is drugstore, and I bought most of it in my last makeup haul, which I made a post about. Now I am in no way a makeup expert and I know there are better products than these out there, but this is what I do and it works for me.

So before I put on any makeup I wash my face with my clairsonic and some cetaphil, and then follow that up with some cetaphil moisturizer. I let the moisturizers rink in for about 10 minutes before I put on makeup, and during this time I usually do my hair or watch a youtube video. After the 10 minutes I then put on my concealer because it is actually too light for me so I apply it under my foundation (BB cream) so that in the end it won't stand out. I use the covergirl ready set gorgeous concealer in 5054 fair and I put it under my eye, and on any pimples or redness. It isn't the best drugstore concealer, but it does the job for me. I would buy the maybelline fit me concealer before I would buy this one again though. I then follow up with my maybelline dream fresh BB cream in light/medium, and I love this product. I don't know if I will go back to using foundation after this, but we will see. I then follow up with the fit me powder in 110. This is the old formula so that is why the packaging is different. And this is all I do for my base makeup, like I said simple and it isn't that high coverage, but I simply just want a more evened skin tone and to cover up a few things rather than have a completely full coverage face. For all of my face makeup I just use my hands, to apply it, and then for the powder I just use the little poof that comes with it.
Now I didn't use blush for the longest time since I always had really red cheeks, but I recently discovered how much blush adds to your face. I just use the covergirl checkers blush in 148 natural rose. I use an elf bronzer brush to apply it, it is the only face brush I have and it works way better than the brush they give you. I don't actually have bronzer, and I haven't felt the need to buy it yet, so I don't contour or any of that. I don't use a highlight either, even though I know that contour and highlight is the big thing in makeup, but I just stick with my simple look. Now brows are also another popular thing in makeup, and I do fill mine in just a little. I use the NYX love in paris palette in Parisian chic and I use the middle brown color (5), and I simple use a q-tip to apply it in my brows. Nothing too defined, just adds a little more emphasis on them.I don't want anything too harsh I still want soft brows. Again just very simple, and probably not that noticeable to anyone else, but I notice it. If I want a brow bone highlight I will just take the light cream color in the palette (4) and just use my ring finger to apply it.
Finally for my last and favorite part, mascara. Now you may already think I don't put much makeup on, but in actuality I could just skip the brows and blush and just put on the base and mascara. For years that's all I did, it is only recently that I have changed it up. I do curl my lashes with just a cheap eyelash curler, and then I use maybelline lash sensational in blackest black. I only just started using this product, my staple mascara is maybelline great lash lots of lashes, but I had heard good things about this one so I thought I would try it out. I like it, quite intense, but it can be hard to take off at night. You just need to use a lot of water, so it is a little time consuming, but atlas that shows it isn't going anywhere. Now as simple as this all seems this is al I do for my makeup each day. Like I said I switch it up for special occasions, but that just means adding a little liner and some eyeshadow for the most part. I sometimes include liner in my everyday makeup, but I only smudge it into my lash line, and I don't wing it out or anything. Like I mentioned with my eyebrows I like a more soft look to my makeup without anything to intense. I like to wear a lot of mascara, but that's about it. So even though I wear makeup about 6 days a week I don't feel it is anything crazy, it is just to spend time pampering myself and making myself feel pretty. I have talked about it before how spending more time on yourself can help if you feel down and it can help you be happier. I explain it in my how to be happy post, and maybe it is only true for me, but spending the time getting ready each morning is like a little gift for myself. It helps to make me feel like I have worth and that feeling happy and confident is important. Now because this post was a little short I thought I would include a video, this is from Allison Anderson, who is one of my favorite Youtubers and this video is a drugstore makeup tutorial, which I thought fit with my all drugstore everyday makeup routine.
