So when I started the sticker chart I decided to treat myself and I set aside $100 dollars to spend, and today is the day I have spent the money (well part of the money, I only spent $40) and like I have been planning I bought makeup. I haven't bought a curling wand yet, because I thought I would wait on that, and now I think I might use that as a bribe to get my license. Once I get my license I will buy the curling wand. Anyways I went into target and started picking up some basics. Looking back I know I missed a few things, and so tomorrow will be some more things I want to buy, but I probably won't buy for a little bit. Now What I realized was that not only is makeup a skill in itself, but shopping for makeup is a skill, since there are many things I did not look at carefully and weren't exactly what I expected. I go through those later with each item though. Overall I got a makeup bag, a foundation (mine had just run out), a concealed, 2 brushes, an eyelash curler, an eyelid primer, 2 eyeshadow palettes, and an eyeliner.
First thing I got was a foundation since mine had just run out, and I picked up the same kind I had before (or so I thought). I had planned on getting a bb cream, but the bb cream I was going to get was more expensive and seemed to have way less product. I may still buy it later in the summer though, since this foundation is very light. That is what I meant before by saying I thought I had the same foundation, but they had reformulated it and even though I picked out the same color when I watched them (pictured to the left) the new foundation was way lighter. It will be ok though as long as I ma not tan, which I am not most of the year. It will only be a problem during the summer, but I don't wear makeup as much in the summer so I think I should be fine. Incase you were going to buy this foundation though be aware that the colors have changed for some reason. Also if you are wondering why I didn't get the powder as well it is because I haven't run out of the powder yet.

next thing I bought was concealer, and I was planing on getting the fit me concealer since I like the foundation and I had heard good things about it, but they only had the shade medium in and I did not think that would fit my skin tone. I then went to my second option of the ready set gorgeous concealer, which I had also heard good things about. Now I did not know what shade to get, but I figured since I got the lightest foundation I should get the lightest concealer, but that may have been a mistake since the concealer was even lighter than the new lightened foundation. It is good for highlighting under the eyes and for any other places I just put it on under my foundation to blend it in. It really isn't that bad it is just funny that the makeup keep getting lighter and lighter. There needs to be some makeup for those unfortunate souls lighter than my skin tone. If you are going to pick up this concealer be a bit cautious. I think I wouldn't have made this mistake if I was better at picking out makeup.

Next I bought two brushes, and originally I thought I would buy a set of brushes, but there is a difference between looking online and picking out items to potentially buy, and actually standing there in the store with your hands full with the realization that you are going to have to pay for all of it. I decided I would stick to cheap elf brushes, and so I picked out two simple eye shadow brushes, they are not great, and kinda feel like they are poking me in the eye at times. I would suggest not skimping your money on eye brushes, although I am dealing with them, and I think the more I am using them the loose bristles are coming off and becoming a bit softer. Still not great though.
Next thing I wanted was a simple eyelash curler, I see no real point in getting a more expensive one rather than a cheap one so I stuck with the cheapest one I am pretty sure. I am now realizing that my lashes don't hold a curl that well, but it could be due to a number of reasons : 1) I am not using the curler the best or I am not holding it on long enough 2) my mascara isn't the best for holding a curl or 3) my lashes just don't curl super well. It does help though and I am glad I got it.

So originally I wasn't going to get an eyelid primer since I thought I would just use the maybelline 24 color tattoo, but they didn't have bad to the bronze, which was the one I wanted so I decided I would go and get the elf eyelid primer, which I head was ok. I picked up the peal shade instead of neutral though, which I didn't mean to do, but its ok it just means that my eyes are more sparkly. These are the little things I need to pay attention to that I didn't really pay attention to this time around.

Now onto eyeshadows, which I hadn't really known what I was going to buy, although the l'oreal color riche la palette nude caught my eye but it was a little more than I wanted to pay. Then this NYC palette also caught my eye called love in paris - Parisian chic which was 5 dollars less than the l'oreal one and only had 2 less colors. The NYC palette didn't have a shimmery lighter color though, and so I got the wet and wild trio in walking on eggshells which I had heard a lot about, and gave me a few other options for shadows. I like all the shadows although the wet and wild colors are way more smooth and pigmented than the NYC colors. The NYC colors are not really that pigmented, but I decided that it is probably a good thing since I won't overdue it on the eyeshadows then and it will help me stick to lighter looks.
I also picked up an eyeliner which I had just seen Elle fowler haul, and so I thought it would be good, and it is. I did pick up a shimmery sort of color instead of the blackest black I think, but it is hard to know when they have weird names. I don't really mind though since really dark black eyeliner may be too invest for me. The eyeliner though is super smooth and I really love it. Easily the best item I picked up while at Target and I totally recommend it.

lastly I needed a cute little bag to put my makeup in, and boy did I strike out. I know I said the eyeliner was the best item but this bag is my favorite thing I bought. It is quite small, but it fits everything I need to have and it is such bright fun colors, and I love it. It makes me happy just looking at it, and I am so glad that this bag was there. I was worried they would not have very cute bags when I was there, but I walked into the aisle and knew I struck gold. It is so cute. Girly but not too much.

Well I hope you enjoyed this makeup haul, and like I talked about there is a few things I missed and so come back tomorrow if you want to see the things still on my makeup wish list.
