8/1/15Hooray! August is here, which means I am back blogging on my new and improved blog! I hope you didn’t miss me posting too much while I was away. I have been using this past month to take a break, evaluate my blog, and do some self improvement. It was very nice to get away, and not have the pressure of having to write a blog post daily. I am very excited to get back into blogging though, and I have big plans in store. I am looking forward to putting more effort into each post, and I have many ideas in my head of where I want to take this blog. However, executing those ideas may be difficult, or they may just change. I am hoping that the changes I am making and the plans I have will make this blog the best it can be. However, we have much to catch up on in the mean time.

Now let’s start out by addressing the obvious, and that is the new design to my blog. Now when I was thinking about redoing my blog I thought I would just change the format of the posts, and maybe I would change the homepage a bit, nothing more. However when I went to go look at my blog and start making changes I decided that I was bored of the whole thing and if I was a bored of it, you guys must be too. I was worried that changing the whole theme would take a lot of time, but actually it was fairly simple, and I love it! I wanted it to be a bit sophisticated but while still being colorful. You will also notice the running theme of watercolors throughout the blog too, which is a design I have always loved, and it has become quite popular recently. I am really truly in love with the new design of my blog and I hope you are too. Now that’s not to say that the old blog will not hold a special place in my heart, because it will but it is time for something new. I will dedicate a few moments to the old blog here.
Now even though the theme for my blog has changed I do not plan on changing the material of it. My posts will have a bit more of a format, with there being a short intro/description of the post at the beginning and on the home page. This will act as a preview to the post and so will the header photo that I am planning on having for each post. The content of posts will be similar to that of what I used to post except hopefully with more exciting posts and less update posts, and also more pictures. Like I have said before I want to increase the quality of the posts rather than the quantity, which is why I am only putting out one post a week. I plan to get the post up on Saturdays. Now if I am feeling ambitious I may do another post during the week, but right now I am sticking to just one. I really do want the posts I put up to be ones that I am proud of and I don’t cringe at when I look back a year later. Before I used to just write a post and publish it without checking for errors or anything, but that is going to change now, so that it will hopefully be a more pleasant experience for you. Overall I hope you enjoy my new take on my old blog, and you enjoy the effort I am putting in.
Now even though I want to cut back on the amount of updates I give you on whats going on in my lifeI feel like I should give you a little insight on what I have been doing while not posting on this blog. Now you would think a lot can happen in a month, and a lot did, it just wasn’t that exciting, so there is not much to talk about. I did go to my grandparents cabin for the fourth of July which was fun, because we saw crazy fireworks, I got to go waterskiing and we ate lots of s’mores. We also had a pool party with family friends, and it was really fun to catch up with them. However these things still feel quite ordinary and boring when other classmates are taking trips to Europe, or going on mission trips to Costa Rica. I have accepted the fact that I have a boring life filled with sitting at home or working. Yes, I do have a job, but it is only for the summer, and it is not a typical job I just sort papers for a few hours each day. It is incredibly boring so I only can work for a few hours otherwise my brain goes numb. As previously mentioned in blog posts I wanted July to be a month I focused on self improvement and spent time doing things I enjoy. This included working on French (by using Duolingo), playing the piano and working out all month long. Overall I really enjoyed my vacation, and even though the summer is zooming by I do not feel like I am wasting it since I have been enjoying it. I hope you have been enjoying your summer as well, and that we can all enjoy this last month of warm weather, at least August is the last month of warm weather for Minnesota, I don't know about for other places. Regardless enjoy the rest of your summer and come back each Saturday for a new post.
