12/31/15I cannot believe it is 2016, I know everyone always says that the year has flown by and that they can't believe the new year is here again, but I am truly surprised. I still feel like a senior in high school, but somehow I graduated this last year and now it's going to be my second semester or college. I have completely changed what I thought I was going to do with my life, and this year definitely didn't go like how I had planned for better or for worse. Now if you have been reading for a while you would know that last year I made a post about my new years resolutions, and so I thought it would be fun to review what I wanted to do this past year before I go on to make resolutions for next year. I haven't read my resolutions from last year yet, but I have a feeling I failed at almost all of them. New years resolutions tend to be something I follow through January and then a bit into the spring quickly forgetting them by summer, which I do not think is uncommon. I hope this year will be different, but we will just have to see.

I have a problem where I split my year into different sections, three in particular, 2nd semester of school in the spring, summer, and 1st semester of school in the fall. I have trouble seeing the whole picture of my year and trying to remember everything I did. That is why yesterdays post was a bit hard to write. This also becomes a problem when it comes to resolutions because I think of new year's resolutions lasting for the spring and by the summer I may have different goals, and by the time fall comes around I feel like a different person because I am moving onto a new stage of my life. I hope this makes sense. Nevertheless, there is a reason I create new years resolutions and I should try and carry them throughout the entire year. Last year I did not have many resolutions at all, I had 3. I didn't want to change too many things at once because the year was going to include a lot of change, and so I decided to try not to change myself to much if my environment was changing. Next year will be a bit different and you will find more about that tomorrow, but now onto the resolutions and evaluating how I did.
1) This year I want to just have fun with my friends. I am an introvert, so I don't hang out a ton with my friends, but it is my senior year and I need to make it worth while. I want to just enjoy hanging out with my friends, and enjoy their company.
I would say I definitely did this, I really had fun the end of senior year, and even if I didn't hang out with friends all the time over the summer I did hang out with people, and I went on a road trip which was so fun. Again by the time fall rolled around this new years resolution didn't really affect me anymore because my friends were all away at college, and I needed to focus on making new friends.
2) Going along with the last one I want to live in the moment, and worry less about the future this year. I am someone who is always thinking about the future and is not just stopping and enjoying where I am in life. Last summer I was trying to just enjoy each day and it was a great way to view the world. I am going to try and do that more.
I have to say this is something I didn't do that much of and I need to work on more. I tried to live in the moment of school, but it was difficult to not think about the future, and how my life will be different. Strangely enough I think college helped with this though because now there is no structure to my life, and I have no idea what the future holds. I still worry about the future, but I focus a lot on the present moment as well. I still need to work on this, but I think now that my life is changing it is getting easier as well.
3) To stop sitting around on the computer and do different things. This goes along with making my blog more interesting, but I sit around on my computer a lot, and even if it is just spending more time in my room looking through old memories, I want to do different things I can't do by just sitting on the computer. I had said earlier this year that I wanted to make my blog posts more worth while with some substance, and this is a step towards that in my mind.
Now I think in some ways I worked on this because I did a big Youtube cleanup in the spring which caused less time focused on that, also I started only blogging once a week, which helps so that I a not spending a ton of time each day on that. I also don't play the sims 3 anymore which took up a ton of time on the computer. I am no where near perfect on this, but I think I made big improvements on this, and it will only continue into next year.
I would not consider myself to have failed my new years resolutions last year. Sure I could have done more, but I think I did pretty well overall and that I am a better person than I was this time last year. The last thing I am going to bring up even though it is not technically a resolution was my sticker chart. If you don't know what I am talking about, it was basically a system I created to help me workout more in order to become healthier. I did complete that even though it lasted 5 months. I consider that an accomplishment as well, so last year was pretty successful, and I hope for just as much success next year with my new resolutions.
