12/19/15Welcome to my new series, which will hopefully be an annual occurrence, and that is what I am calling, the end of year cheer. It is a series that takes place the last two weeks in December where I post everyday, as a way to lead up to and celebrate Christmas as well as the new year. All the posts leading up to Christmas, as well as the day after Christmas, will obviously be about or relating to Christmas. After that all the posts will be relating to the new year, and also reflecting on the past year. Think of it as my gift to you during this holiday season, and even though I am Christian and these posts will be about Christmas, don't be discouraged to come and read if you are a different religion. I want this is be a way to celebrate and be happy since that is my favorite part about Christmas, and so most of my posts are just here to try and lift your spirits and get you in the holiday mood. If nothing else just come back after Christmas and the posts will be about the new year.

Now if you are Christmas obsessed and you cannot wait to start reading holiday posts, last year I was posting everyday, so almost all of December is Christmas themed. I will put some of the highlights of last year below, so you can get an idea of what type of posts to expect.
Now like every year I am always really excited for Christmas and in the Christmas spirit, however, this year will be a bit different than Christmas's in the past, since we are changing traditions. If you have been a long time reader you know that I used to celebrate Christmas eve with my mom's side of the family. My cousins and grandparents would come over, we would hang out, play some games, eat lots of good food, and then each open a gift from our grandparents. However, this year we have already celebrated with my mom's side of the family, because my grandparents wanted to head down to Arizona early, meaning they were not be here for Christmas eve. We were going to celebrate Christmas on the day after Thanksgiving, but we ended up celebrating it on November 22 instead since that's what worked best. It wasn't really like Christmas, and more like just a family get together, but it was fun nevertheless. So now this year we have the opportunity to make new traditions for Christmas eve, which is interesting, I doubt we will really form a tradition for at least a few more years, but we are trying some things out. Christmas is always a time for family in my opinion, and it will be fun figuring out fun things we can do as a family for Christmas.
